New features in Slot’s Eyes: optimal bookings in faster software

Improving our platform’s features is the main goal of the whole team behind Slot’s Eyes. To do that, we rely on actively listening to our customers and on adopting cutting-edge software technology. All of which allows us to position ourselves as a leading tool serving the changing needs of the logistics sector.

New features for bookings

Slot’s Eyes is a solution for organising warehouse operations. That is why we have prioritised the new features in this area. Specifically, we have added…

… Defining resource types. In order to have greater control over operations, the resources needed to carry them out can now be associated with them.

… Defining vehicle types. So that automatic bookings can be made, different vehicle types can be specified for the same dock.

… Bookings by link. With this, users who are not registered on the platform can make bookings for their customers. The company can define the resources required; select the vehicle type or types accepted for the operation at that dock; and add contact information. Once this is done, the carrier receives an email with the QR code associated with the booking.

For their part, the user has to verify their identity by entering their email address. From there, they select the number of pallets needed for the operation, the type of vehicle they will use and the date. The system automatically shows them the different docks they can use along with the available time slots.

… Limiting resources per day. We can set, for example, the total number of operations per day. Once that figure is reached, the tool blocks any further operations from being added, even if there are hours or docks still available.

… Editing bookings with no shipment number attached. Among the new features of 2023, Slot’s Eyes now lets you make bookings and save them in the system without having to attach a shipment number.

… Defining recurring bookings. In the new version of recurring bookings it is possible to report on the resources available in those bookings, and to store and manage the warnings attached to a recurring booking. The warnings relate to possible incidents in how recurring bookings run: Slot’s stores them and raises an alert so the operator can take it into account and act on it.

New features in the development itself

As well as the information security and server work we described in this article, we have also introduced new features in the development itself that improve the usability of Slot’s Eyes. The result is an even faster platform: because working in real time, and in a sector like logistics, demands software that performs.
