Data is essential if we are to analyse our activity. Thanks to it we obtain the KPIs that let us make improvements to our operation, which translate into greater productivity and, with it, efficiency. All those KPIs, however, come from processing data and storing information. In short: data that lives in the cloud.

Every organisation has a duty to safeguard the security of the data it handles. That applies both to what we store within our own company and to what is handled through external suppliers and software. That is why, at Slot’s Eyes, we want to explain some of the most significant details that make us a trustworthy supplier when it comes to protecting information as well. DATA PROTECTION

The body of rules governing the privacy, security and use of personal data and technology (including, among other things, cybersecurity) is what we know as data protection and new technologies. We are all obliged to meet the appropriate protection standards.

At Slot’s Eyes we have staff who are experts in data protection. As everyone knows, the LOPD was the first piece of data protection legislation in Spain. As society and technology evolved, that legislation was updated with the GDPR, which is mandatory. Together with the new LOPDGDD and the Information Society Services Act, companies have had to adapt to the new requirements imposed by the regulations.

In this respect, every update we have made to the yard management system in this area includes the highest security standards where data protection is concerned. SERVERS ARE KEY

One of the most important points in guaranteeing that we comply with current regulations, and that also allows us to give our customers complete peace of mind, concerns the servers. The servers where Slot’s Eyes information is stored are in a TIER4 data centre. This means we have servers with the highest certification, which confirms that:

  • The infrastructure is robust.
  • Uptime is very high: in other words, server outages are highly exceptional.
  • It is protected against possible disasters.

TIER4 servers have a guaranteed availability of 99.995%. That makes them the ideal option for any cloud service such as the one we offer in our yard management system: because the service is always guaranteed. Our servers, certified as TIER4, are those that meet the highest quality standards. In practice, this means they allow us to:

  • Restore backups at any time.
  • Guarantee resilience to natural disasters.
  • Make changes to the platform with outages of less than 5 seconds: almost imperceptible to users.
  • Duplicate everything involved in their operation, from the cooling systems to the software and data storage.
  • Scale the servers according to what is needed at any given time.
  • Be more energy efficient.

This demonstrates our commitment to quality in every sense. At Slot’s Eyes we do not only improve our software and extend it in line with new operational needs: we also do so while guaranteeing the security of all the data we store.
