How each company is organised depends on many factors. On the one hand, because we have closure days scheduled in our working calendar for holidays or public holidays. On the other, because we have to make organisational adjustments depending on maintenance work at each warehouse and even at each dock.

To address the reality of each company, Slot’s Eyes lets you set additional closure dates for the warehouse and its docks. This means organisations can alert transport suppliers well in advance about planned closures and so reduce incidents in day-to-day operations.

Dock Management module

To make calendar management easier, our yard management system includes a ‘Dock Management’ module that lets you:

  • Assign a general set-up to each dock through:
  • Designing the usual opening calendar for each dock.
  • Setting how long each slot lasts. That is, defining the number of minutes for each individual booking.
  • Specifying particular opening hours for each dock.
  • Defining the type of goods received or dispatched from each dock.
  • Indicating the type of dock. For example, rear-loading, virtual, tanker or side-loading, among other options.
  • Adjust the information for each booking, providing the carrier with specific fields to:
  • Link the resources needed for each booking. For example, letting the carrier state the number of pallets.
  • Define the type of operation (loading or unloading) they will carry out in that particular booking.

Set warehouse closure dates. This lets us record how public holidays affect our activity, regardless of whether it is a day that would otherwise be a working day at our site. For example, if we open our site from Monday to Friday and 12 October (a national public holiday in Spain) falls on a Wednesday, users of Slot’s Eyes at our warehouses will see it as closed. That way they can manage bookings in advance, making sure goods are handled on time.

Add recurring bookings. This feature lets you:

  • Assign a recurring booking to a particular carrier that, because of our activity, will remain fixed for a specific period of time.
  • Close a dock at a specific time or on a specific day. This lets us set aside the time needed to carry out the appropriate routine maintenance.
