In the previous post, ‘New features in Slot’s Eyes: optimal bookings in faster software’, we explained some of the innovations we added to our yard management system during 2023. This time we want to go deeper into other new features we have also added this year, focused on improving the experience on the platform and on managing information even more efficiently.
Better visibility of pallets used. The new version of Slot’s Eyes lets you see and assess the pallet resources used in bookings on a daily basis. We can also check how many pallets were used in each booking, for more specific data.
More precise time control. The new version adds a new milestone to time tracking: the moment the goods are inspected. This joins the earlier key moments covering the carrier’s arrival, entry to the warehouse, the start of the operation and departure.
Reports in several languages. The internationalisation of companies is a reality that also has to be addressed when analysing key KPIs. That is why, in the report settings, we can specify the particular language they are issued in.
Support in a single click. The login page now includes a direct link to the contact area for our technical team. What is more, once logged in, we help users external to the company get in touch with the department if they have a query about bookings.
An advanced search. To make it easier to find information about bookings, the new Slot’s Eyes search area includes filters by booking number and ID; by customer or supplier; and by email address.
A more intuitive view of each dock’s status. The new version of the yard management system includes a wider set of colour codes to indicate every possible status of each operation. Specifically, they are as follows:
- Grey, when we are not yet within the time slot associated with that booking.
- Orange for when a carrier has arrived later than the time booked.
- Purple indicates that the carrier is waiting for authorisation to enter, having arrived before the agreed time.
- Red appears when the carrier has reported their arrival and is waiting for authorisation, and is within the booking’s time slot.
- Yellow identifies operations that are under way, with the carrier on site.
- When the operation is complete, it appears in blue.
- Green identifies free slots.
Simpler navigation. So that activity across different days can be analysed and managed, we have added a search engine to the calendar that lets you select a specific date directly. In addition, on any given day, there are two buttons to move to the day immediately before or after the one being viewed. This means all the information can be handled conveniently and, what is more, on a single screen.
A wider view. Among the warehouse view settings, it is now possible to enable a horizontal layout: this shows more docks on the same page.
The innovations in Slot’s Eyes during 2023 have opened up a new path of improvement that answers our customers’ operational needs. Thanks to having introduced our platform in many different sectors and to the close, trusting relationship we have with operations departments, we have begun a new revolution in the yard management system that we will be working on throughout 2024.
