In our previous post we talked about how important it is to manage different warehouses and docks from a single piece of software, and about how Slot’s Eyes meets that need for companies. Today, to show off the usability of the yard management system, we explain in detail how warehouses and docks are set up in the tool.

Creating warehouses in Slot’s Eyes is very simple. Once you have requested registration as a company on the platform, the Slot’s Eyes support team provides you with an Administrator user who can create different profiles with multiple roles. People in the organisation with the right role can create new warehouses by going to the ‘Warehouse management’ module.

By clicking the ‘Add’ button, they can create a new warehouse with its specific characteristics, which include the different types of access (for operators and for external users) and the features particular to each warehouse: the security gatehouse, the security guard and slot confirmation, as well as any limit on booking hours, the name by which we will identify the warehouse and its physical address.

Once the warehouse has been created with its characteristics, we can start adding docks, following a very similar process.

Clicking ‘Add’ on the docks brings up a configuration screen again, this time applying only to the dock, as shown in the following screenshot.

For day-to-day management, in the ‘Booking management’ module we only have to select the warehouse to see its specific booking grid and browse its calendar.

Every warehouse and its docks can produce statistical reports. In addition, for one-off real-time checks, the ‘Warehouse overview’ module lets you see the operations already carried out, those still to arrive, those pending assignment and, finally, the total dispatches for the day.

Sound familiar at your dock?

We will show you how Slot’s Eyes brings order to your appointments, your docks and your paperwork, with your own rules.
