Adding value to operations through immediate incident management

Our yard management system was created to make day-to-day warehouse operations easier with an advanced booking system. The philosophy of actively listening to the companies that trust us has allowed us to keep innovating our software with features that have a direct, positive impact on warehouse management.

Incidents day-to-day operations

Having properly established procedures across the team of professionals makes it possible to reduce the number of incidents that occur at our sites. Even so, there are always risks we have to consider in order to stop any small error from spreading to the whole of the warehouse’s activity.

In warehouses, incidents are failures in the supply chain that can ultimately affect the quality of the product we handle. For example, deliveries that arrive damaged or incomplete documentation. In any case, the causes of incidents usually have to do with:

  • Communication between departments or with suppliers that could be better, which can lead to failures in the supply chain.
  • Processes that can still be optimised.
  • Human error stemming, for instance, from training needs within the team.
  • A shortage of material, technological or human resources.

Detecting and managing incidents: key to continuous improvement

At Slot’s Eyes we want to keep supporting companies as they grow and, to that end, we have developed an incident management service within the dock management platform itself. The main goals of this new feature are:

  • Detect errors and inefficiencies. Knowing what is happening in our warehouses is the first step towards reacting and implementing improvements.
  • Record anomalies. It is essential to keep a record of any incident so that the things that concern us can be followed up.
  • Have information in real time. If we can get operations managers to receive notifications about incidents instantly, more will be resolved and the subsequent follow-up will be more thorough.

A customisable feature

Our platform lets you add incident management in a fully configurable way, with an alert system that then allows proper follow-up until the incident is resolved. Within the Slot’s Eyes ‘Warehouse Management’ module you can configure the incident questionnaires: with specific questionnaires for each dock and an email notification system. It is also a feature that can be switched on and off depending on what is needed at any given time and that is intuitive, making it easier to manage internal changes on the platform.
